About us
A straightforward studio in Oud-West: enough space to play together, enough isolation for dry vocals, and engineers who run your session themselves.
How we started
Obligerpath opened in 2019 at Overtoom 141 to give bands and vocalists a central Amsterdam base without resort-style pricing. We pair live takes with tight vocal booths and a control room where you can listen without stopping the flow.
Clients include solo artists, podcasters, small labels and agencies needing voice-over. We do not run public open days: every hour in the diary belongs to a booked session.
The rooms
Live room (28 m²)
Drums, bass and guitar amps can stay set up together. Gobos and fixed DI lines keep changeovers short.
Vocal booth (14 m²)
Isolated booth for singing, rap and spoken word, with sight lines into the live room.
Control room
Dual monitors, analogue inserts and a headphone matrix for up to 6 people. 18 microphones are ready; we match models to your voice or instrument.
Engineers and coordination
Sanne de Vries is director and lead engineer on most vocal and band sessions. Lars van den Berg handles mixing and mastering; Noor Bakker schedules podcasts and keeps the diary realistic.
Whoever wrote your quote is usually at the session too, so sound and tempo expectations stay aligned.
Workflow and files
Before the session you get a short checklist (tempo, key, references). Afterwards we deliver 24-bit WAV via secure link. Projects stay on our servers for 12 months, then we delete them unless you ask for an extension in writing.
Mixing includes 2 revision rounds with clear feedback windows. Extra rounds are billed hourly — see Mixing.
Getting here
Overtoom 141, 1054 HG Amsterdam (Oud-West). We are at Overtoom 141, a short walk from the Overtoom stop (GVB tram 1 and 7). From Amsterdam Centraal, allow about twenty minutes on tram 1 towards Osdorp. There is on-street paid parking and bicycle racks; the entrance is at street level beside the large front windows.
